Since fall 2009 we have been offering theatrical and performing artist custom designs on our dance shoes.. We hired an experienced artist to refinish our shoes for dancers who want to express their individuality.
Our Artist is from New York and specializes in Hip Hop street art and culture. This process is for new Gabellini shoes only. You need to purchase through this page only for custom work. The new York studio stocks gabellini shoes and all customization will be done through his design studio and shipped directly to you..
How long does it take.
Normally delivery takes about 3 - 4 weeks. Since we started to offer this service offline we are already booked up to June 10. Once you place an order your shoes are on the painting schedule and we will give you an approximate delivery date.
Customization is the big trend amongst the fashion freshest. Getting things made just for you or finding one-of-a-kind dance shoes.
How do you make the shoes?
I prime the designated area. After it dries I use markers to do a rough sketch of the design. I use high quality acrylic paints to fill in my sketch. Once the finished painting is dry I apply 2 coats of varnish to seal in the color and help prevent any cracking or fading.
What kind of shoes can you paint on?
I only paint on Gabellini Dance Shoes
Can the shoes be washed?
YES! You can hand clean any dirty areas with mild soap. I do not suggest excessive scrubbing or using a machine.
How long does the paint last?
The images should last as long as the shoes themselves. With time the paint will wear along with the shoes.
Can I actually wear them?
Of course! They are 100% wearable and I seal the paint with a varnish to help with weather protection.
What about shipping?
Shoes are shipped first class from USPS. Shipping within the US is Free. International shipping is $20.00 which includes insurance and a tracking number.
How much does the Artwork cost?
The price for artwork varies depending on the design. Artwork can range anywhere from $20. to $200.00 USD.
